Come spend a wonderful fall weekend for a unique shopping experience. Every room and the large 4 car garage has many Hidden Treasures in this lovely, spacious waterside estate. At the time of this writing we are still opening boxes of surprises for all. This will be the perfect sale to start your Holiday shopping.

In the Christmas department, you will find “Department 56” and “Williamsburg” Christmas Villages including trees and figures, several boxes of Vintage glass Christmas balls and this is just the beginning. (Be sure to check-out the photo gallery).

There is a large collection of vintage collectible die-cast cars and display boxes and many of the original boxes they came in. They are 1-18 size and were owned by an adult and never played with. A perfect gift for the collector.

There are four Louisville Slugger baseball bats from the 1920’s, a great pair of metal roller skates and even a pair of vintage Hockey skates.

The garages also house several ladders, work benches, metal shelves, shop and garden tools, a Delta radial arm saw as well as some fishing equipment, including an old wooden reel. A ping pong table and equipment are also included. And more boxes to still be discovered.

The hospital bed, wheel chair and medical equipment will be given to a person in need so please help us find these items a good home.

The large nautical “Port” lamp came off of a very large ship many years ago and is solid copper. It has been wired and works great. There are two smaller brass lamps that used kerosene and will make a great addition to any “SeaFaring” collection.

Interesting art adorns the walls, some are original and even a picture of a baby from the early 1900’s in an original oval frame. The Art Nouveau style table with brass and marble has a matching mirror with figures on several sides of the brass frame. A great addition to an entry hall.

Stationed in the entry hall is a dark mahogany Grandfather Clock from Ethan Alan and appears to be in excellent condition.

The dining room table has 3 leaves and 6 chairs. The ideal table for all your Holiday gatherings. There is a buffet, small side board and matching china cabinet that will complete your dining area.

One of the treasures we found was the Childs Chautauqua Arts and Crafts desk complete with original chalk, scrolls, teachers work book and one master library book from 1926.

The two gorgeous room size ( 8 x 12 ) Asian-style rugs  are looking for a new home and would work well a living room or even a dining room. The beautiful crystal servers will make a great gift with some home made candy or cookies.

There are several sofas and two are hide a beds for Holiday Company. All are in really good condition but please bring help to move because you will need it.

Upstairs are books for all and some very special ones for gift giving. There is some really nice electronics ( Techniques, Denon, Kenwood, etc.) and a pair of outstanding speakers in beautiful cabinets. The speakers are very heavy so please bring help if interested. There is a very large collection of LP record albums including many boxed sets. Also a high end reel to reel tape recorder/player and some vintage camera equipment.

The large desk would be perfect as the addition to your office. It is solid wood and has a file drawer. Displayed on the desk you will find an array of office supplies. Nearby is a colorful display of very nice gentlemen’s neck ties, many of wool or silk.

Nice lamps, including a wonderful matching pair of Torchiere lamps probably from the late 1020’s, assorted end tables, clocks, crystal, silver plate, a beautiful old elk handled carving set with a velvet case, dinning linens, costume jewelry, including men’s tie bars and cufflinks, several sets of green depression glass furniture coasters, desks and desk chairs, an ornate carved/inlaid bedroom set, books, barometer, very old black & white photographs somewhat lists the content of this fun and wonderful Estate Sale. Nassawadox, Virginia, Saturday, October 12, 2019

October 8, 2019 By Ruth Leave a Comment

9520 Rogers Dr., Nassawadox, Virginia

Saturday, October 12, 2019
9:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M.

Numbers for addmitance to the sale will be handed out at 8:00 A.M. You will be addmitted in the order of the number that you recieved. One number per person. Please be sure to bring help to carry any large items to your car.

This weeks estate sale takes place in what was once a very “up-scale” lovely neighborhood owned largely by Doctors that was very convenient to the nearby hospital in Nassawadox. Most of the homes are still wonderful and very well maintained. This one is no exception with nice Asian carpets, gorgeous furnishings, interesting art and dinner ware ready for holiday entertaining. Be sure to check out the photo gallery.

The beautiful dining table can become a banquet table by adding the two Demi lune extensions at either/both ends. The 6 chairs are adorned with the most beautiful hand crafted needlepoint seats.

The matching side board will be the perfect addition to your holiday meals as well as several sets of china including Wedgwood’s  “OLD VINE.”

As you enter the house you will see the antique victorian settee and occasional chairs that look like they have never been sat on. The small drop front desk is perfect for most any room. If you are in the market for a truly lovely new sofa the off white one is just what you might be looking for. There is a large 6 drawer dresser with a mirror that would be a nice addition to any bedroom. Winter is coming and we have two sets of brass fireplace tongs and equipment as well as logs for your gas fireplace

There is a single size adjustable bed with memory foam mattress that will give you a wonderful nights sleep.

The drop leaf table would be perfect for a small kitchen or could be used as a desk for your computer.

The sun room is filled with nice rattan furniture including a sofa and matching chair as well as a glass top table and 4 chairs. The oriental style carpet on the floor is like new and measures 9’x12′.

In the den is a very nice dark red Oriental rug that measures 10’x15′. A perfect rug for a larger living room or bedroom.

Take a walk upstairs to see all the hidden treasures that we found in the attic. Lots of art to adorn walls and an assortment of books that will make you want to start reading again. We even found some local books on the Eastern Shore.

The small Haywood Wakefield round mid century coffee table was a real surprise.

We also found what we believe to be an antique Hitchcock rocker with a rush seat. What a charming little chair.

In one of the other bedrooms is a very nice canopy bed. It was once a rope bed that has been converted to a regular full size bed with mattress and box springs. There are at least two canopies for the bed and they will be included in the purchase. There are several sheets and pillow cases to fit the bed.

There is a wonderful pine dressing table and drop front desk that are the perfect addition to a teenager’s room.

In the garage you will see a few of the usual garage items as well as two riding lawn mower/grass cutters, a John Deere and a Snapper and a King O’ Lawn Gas edger. All appear to be workable with a little maintenance.

There are several outdoor treasures including a charming black wrought iron table and  two chairs and two additional arm chairs. A mid century white table with 4 chairs, a nice wrought iron settee and an assortment of bird feeders for all our feathered friends.

A few of you got lost looking for the last sale and I really do not want that to happen this time so I have included written directions as well as map quest directions:

Lankford Hwy. (Hwy. 13) to Rogers Dr. (road to Little Italy restaurant and old Hospital in Nassawadox). Turn west on Rogers Dr. To 9520 Rogers Dr. The house is on the left.
