We on Virginia’s Eastern Shore are very fortunate that hurricane Florence spared our coastline, but our hearts, thoughts and prayers go out to those in the Carolinas.

Summer is finally coming to an end and we are finishing it with a fun sale in Chincoteague. 

This is a very interesting sale with lots of hidden treasures for all.

There are some very unique vintage pieces of furniture, glassware, art and collectables. The very large carved oak side board needs some TLC because the carved drawer pulls are missing. There is one remaining so if you are handy and have room for this beautiful piece of furniture it is looking for a new home. 

The dining room table with 6 chairs has leaves and pads. The top shows some age and wear but a little sanding and refinishing and you will have a beautiful table for a long time. The buffet, server and glass front china cabinet will make a dining room to be proud of.

The upright piano will be priced to sell and has ivory keys that make it very special.

Several wing chairs that also need some TLC but with new slip covers will be a great additon to your living room or library.

Some of the art pieces may be original etchings or drawings but we really are not sure. Bring your loops and check them out.

If you are in the market for some super nice rugs be sure to see these. There are two room size, a smaller one and a runner. They are thick Chinese rugs in contemporary pastel colors. They have been professionally cleaned and treated for moths and have been rolled and wrapped to be kept like new. We will have a portion of each rug showing and if you are interested we will make a place for you to see them. We do not want to put them on the floor at this time so they will be like new when they do find a new home.

In the shed you will find some real treasures. From the antique gas cans and wonderful old doors to vintage boat props there is truly something for everyone. 

Be sure to enjoy the pictures in the photo gallery. They were hurriedly taken before the storm, we will try to add more before the sale.

This an older home located on Main St. Please be aware of the parking. The house is right across the street from the new Comfort Suites Hotel. But please do not park in their parking lot, they do not allow the lot for anything but their guests’ use. 

The house is very small so only a few will be admitted at a time. Numbers for order of admittance will be available at 8:00 am, the day of the sale.

What a wonderful way to spend a summer day. This home is a shopping paradise.

The lady of the house owned one of the most beautiful gift stores and when she retired she brought home a very large numeber of her special items from the shop and now we have the pleasure of presenting them to you.

There is an entire room of Longaberger baskets of all sizes and shapes. They are all new from her shop and some are still in their boxes. These baskets make a wonderful gift for any time of the year and with weddings coming up they would be terrific filled with goodies for a special picnic for two.

There are Vera Bradley purses and wallets, cards for all occasions, books for good summer reading and a large selection of beautiful Christmas items.

There are several pieces of nice jewelry, maybe even some silver and gold. We are still checking all of these pieces out so check back for additional pictures.

The vintage toys and dolls are perfect for a collector. The child size oak roll top desk is perfect for the youngest of scholers.

Several Eastern Shore style paintings adorn the walls as well as some nice Eastern Shore cook books ( from local churches ) and good reading about Eastern Shore history. There are several turtle shells nestled among the decoys. In the garage on the wall is a very large turtle shell that would make a great and interesting coffee table with a piece of glass on top of his shell. The crocks and brown & white jugs are always a great addition to your decorating.

The beautiful hand made grandfather clock is very special and keeps wonderful time. Several antique mantle clocks are scattered throughout the house. Some are working and some are not.

As well as running a gift shop the lady of the house collected beautiful vinegar cruets. They will be on display in the dining room hutch. There are some pretty quilts also.

On the sunporch is a nice glass top rattan table and 4 chairs, two matching rattan arm chairs, ottoman and side table.

The large wooden ice box has its original zinc lining. You will find a lovely set of china in the bow front china cabinet.

Lots of special kitchen items and cook books for all you gormet cooks. A very large set of Longaberger dinnerware with all the pieces including pie plates  and serving pieces.

There is a basement with lots of Hidden Tresures so please be careful if you plan to go down because the steps are very steep.

The garage also holds many Hidden Treasures as well as several computers and two nice upscale turntables that have had very little use. (We have heard that vinyl is making a comeback).

For all you woodworkers and project doers the shed outside is a really terrific Treasure hunt. All of the tools have been cleaned and tested and they all work. This will be a great opportunity to have some of those tools you have wanted for a long time at a bargain price.

There are two gun cabinets, both custom made. One is for rifles and the other is for hand guns. They are beautiful cabinets for all you gun enthusiastic people. A great addition to keep your collectible guns in.

This beautiful water front home will be for sale and we will have information for you to take home. The property is worth previewing just to see the unique sea wall.

The owners of this beautiful Atlantic home have sold the house and are downsizing to a condo in Florida and have left some extremely nice things for your buying pleasure.

The lady of the house is an artist and left some wonderful examples of her art work for us to sell. In her studio is a large selection of her creativity, a very large matt cutter, several matts as well as matting material, framing glass and watercolor paper. This will be worth your time if you are an artist or a budding artist looking to start a career of your own. 

As you enter the home you will see the dining room with 6 shield back chairs including 2 arm chairs and a very nice Duncan Phyfe buffet. 

The office has the perfect desk set up with glass front cupboards to display all your collectibles and terrific books. The Casio keyboard has been used very little and has all the instructions to begin playing as soon as you get it home. 

In the master bedroom is a very nice king size bed with wrought iron head board, Eastlake side chairs and Eastlake Oak dresser with mirror. The large Empire dresser would work in a dining room as well as a bedroom. The charming iron bed would be perfect for a little girl and has a brand new mattress.

The large wing chair in the living room will be just right for reading the latest novel. The large Samsung flat screen TV is ideal for all your summer movies and favorite TV shows.

The lady of the house loved to cook and is leaving cupboards filled with surprises for all. The occupant of the bird cage moved with her masters but the cage is ready for a new bird to take over.

As you walk out into the well cared for back yard you will find an aluminum glass top table with 6 chairs and umbrella waiting to make your summer evenings more enjoyable. At the pool side is another glass top outdoor table, 4 chairs and umbrella. The Charmglow gas grill will be perfect for out door cooking this summer. There are several pieces of Yard Art and a wooden porch swing looking for a new porch.

The 1997 16 ft. Lund Rebel aluminum boat and Venture trailer come complete with a Mercury 25 hp engine, depth finder, trolling motor, extra seat, anchor, cover and much more. The engine was winterized so it is ready for a day of fishing.

A Craftsman riding mower has a catcher for grass clippings and a trailer for hauling all of your garden tools. There is a Craftsman rear tine rototiller, and several more power driven garden tools as well as general garden tools. 

In the garage is a Craftsman table saw, Craftsman band saw, several hand tools, Fishing poles and tackle, large kerosene heater, and a very large wooden work bench. One of the hidden treasures we found is a box of assorted patterns for those who like carving birds and decoys. The gentleman of the house was a very fine carver and has left a large collection of carving books and magazines for us to sell.
