This will be a two day sale. Numbers for Saturday will be given out at 8:00 A.M. on Saturday and Numbers for Sunday will be given out at 11:30 A.M. on Sunday. One number per person and you will be admitted in the order of your number.

WELCOME to Chincoteague Island. Beach Lovers paradise of Virginia’s Eastern Shore. The owners have decided to sell their summer beach home  including all their interesting island furnishings and collections.

This is definitely an estate sale shopper’s paradise. Every room is filled with so many “Treasures” you won’t believe all this came from this one summer home.

The couple that lived here loved Pepsi Cola Collectibles and covered several walls with them. From collector plates and limited editions to clocks, chairs, die-cast vehicles and signs. You will find some exciting things to add to your collections.

Decoy carvings (some local), original local art and Eastern Shore books are in large supply. The framed New Yorker magazine covers will take you back in time. There is a very nice collection of Eastern Shore and Chincoteague books as well cookbooks.

The sturdy wood furniture will be perfect for your home, school, cabin or rental. It includes a dining room table with benches, 4 door server for storage, couch and love seat with coffee table and side tables, bookcases and a desk downstairs. Upstairs is a set of twin beds, double dresser with mirror, night tables, double bed and chest with shelves and drawers for storage. All are in really terrific condition.

There is a nice collection of costume jewelry that has not been sorted yet so you will have to come and see what “Hidden Treasures” you will find.

The lady of the house loved to cook and entertain and the cupboards are filled with all kinds of baking cookware, utensils and dishes. An almost new “Ultra Power” Kitchen-Aid mixer is available too.

We are still uncovering “Hidden Treasures” from the attic at the time of this writing. Lots of blue glass for all you ‘cobalt-like’ collectors.

The Martha Washington sewing cabinet has been painted with a wonderful country scene. The Hitchcock bench is just right for the smallest of rooms.

The marvelous wood and brass ship’s helm is in excellent condition and will be a great addition to any sea-going decor. Be sure to listen to the incredible sounds from the Bose Wave Radio.

If you have been waiting for the perfect sewing machine to make that sewing dream project we have one waiting for you. The “Bernette”  230 sewing machine made by Bernina comes with cabinet and sewing chair.

Two very nice “beach” bikes will provide cruising to the beach a joy this spring and summer. A Craftsman self propelled, 6.75 horsepower like new lawn cutting machine is also available. The garden shed is full of garden & household  tools and beach “stuff”.

Be sure to take your time and study the attached pictures, there is so much to see. You should be able to enlarge the pictures to see all the items and the detail.

Because of the volume of items and the very small house we will be limiting the amount of people we admit when we first open so please be patient we will not make you wait too long. The numbers for order of admittance will be passed out one hour prior to the sale starting.

Parking is very limited and the complex will be limited to parking for pickup of large items only. The only parking will be on the road and only one side so be very careful of where and how you park. The road must be left passable for emergency vehicles.

We are short of bags and boxes and will appreciate you bringing your own. There will be no room in the house for boxes so please leave them in your car until needed. Thank you

Don’t miss this one. See you there.

April 2, 2019 By Ruth Leave a Comment

25606 E. Main St. Onley, Virginia

Saturday, April 6, 2019
9:00am to 1:00pm
Sunday, April 7th, 2019
12:00pm to 4:00pm

This will be a two day sale. Numbers for Saturday will be given out at 8:00 A.M. on Saturday and Numbers for Sunday will be given out at 11:30 A.M. on Sunday. One number per person and you will be admitted in the order of your number.

Welcome to one of Onley Virginia’s large picturesque victorian homes, owned and lived in since the early 1900’s by three generations of one Onley family.

As you enter the home you will first see some nice oriental-style rugs that have adorned the floors for years and may even be original to the first owners. Several pieces of the furniture have their original shipping labels and a date and address from where they were purchased. This will make owning those pieces even more special.

Another wonderful surprise is the collection of antique toys that were found stored in the attic. There are several antique Schoenhut Humpty Dumpty Circus pieces. They were made in Philadelphia in the early 1900’s. As well as the circus there is the most charming horse and wagon. For all you sewing enthusiasts and collectors we have the nicest hand crank American Girl metal sewing machine from the 1920’s with its original box. There are more great antique toys and upstairs you will find a table full of very early games and puzzles. For every little girl’s dream is a beautiful vintage porcelain tea set complete with metal tray and silver service.

An original Lionel train box has an assortment of cars, tracks and accessories that were also found in the attic. The oversize red battery operated/controlled convertible will probably require some work to get it running. The room with the toys upstairs has lots of surprises including a vintage doll complete with 4 heads and clothes and some nice oversized doll furniture. Some super vintage children’s and teen’s books are also available. This is a room that will be a true treasure hunt.

The beautiful dark red velvet carved victorian sofa is all original and is in really lovely condition. We have the original receipt for this beauty and it would fit very nicely in any size victorian home. The carpet in this room is very bright and would be perfect even in the most modern of homes.

The oak hall tree is one of the nicest we have seen in a very long time. All of the original hooks are in place and it is a very nice size for any home.

One of the wonderful surprises is the Mission style bench in the hall way with storage in the seat. What a great place to sit and put on your outside shoes.

There is a very large amount of local strawberry tickets in all sizes from 1 quart to 20 quarts. They are in really nice condition so be sure to come and add to your collection.

In the dining room you will find the square oak table and six chairs that would be perfect as a kitchen unit. The Mission style side board has a shelf and mirror. If you are looking for the perfect dining room table for a small dining room we have the one you need. It is made of black cherry wood and will seat 4 and by adding the three leaves you can seat a nice large group. It has been covered for years and it is in really nice condition.

A carved Mahogany Steiff upright piano also sits in the dining room and is looking for a new home. It will need tuning and has its original ivory keys. The wood is really beautiful and could be taken apart and be used for some great projects.  All of the vintage music will go with the piano.

Do not be afraid of moving the very large Armoire because it comes apart so it can be moved easily. There are also several small items of victorian clothes to hang inside.

The other bed room across the hall is also full of Hidden Treasures including the small printing press and a 1940’s  Wavelength Zenith

multi-band radio. Not sure of the working condition.

The last bedroom has a really lovely set of of painted furniture including twin beds, dressing table and small wardrobe. The set is the perfect Shabby Chic addition to a quaint little home. Antique hats, a marble top wash stand and blue ribbons from the Northampton & Accomac Hunt club 1944 are just some more of the Hidden Treasures.

There is a very large collection of quilts from several generations. They are truly worth looking at.

Several pieces of art, ( some original ) including Willy Crockett as well as several beautiful old frames.

The assortment of costume jewelry promises some surprise for all of us. There seem to be some very old pieces as well as some that are signed.

One big surprise is still in the attic. There is a huge collection of National Geographic magazines from the early 1900”s to early 2000’s. If you would like to see them please ask for assistance.

The kitchen filled with colorful glass and and an assortment of vintage kitchen items as you will see in the pictures.

In the garage is a large assortment of used lawnmowers and old bicycles. They will all be sold on a “make a deal” price so bring your pick up trucks and trailers and take home a real deal.

The vintage wicker we believe has been with the house for great number of years and will need a little TLC and a good coat of paint.

This is a sale you will be talking about for years so be sure to come and join us for a weekend of fun.
